Construction & CDM 2015

Since the introduction of CDM 2015 any construction work, whether it’s a new bathroom fit out or an extension needs a construction phase plan.

These requirements mean that small and medium sized construction businesses have to make a plan and manage health and safety, even for small projects on domestic properties.

A Principal Designer must be appointed, although the role of Principal Designer does not have to fall onto one person and can be shared amongst a group of people as an entity. This means that an organisation that has been appointed as Principal Designer can outsource aspects of the role, such as health and safety and the gathering of pre-construction information.

Safety Smart can assist. If you have a CDM 2015 related question, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
