The growing trend towards modular buildings and off-site manufacture of building systems is well documented and there has been an awareness for some time that such methods will play a key role in the future of construction.

The Chancellor’s Autumn Budget speech this week revealed that the growth of the offsite sector is about to be significantly accelerated in a bid to solve the housing shortage crisis. As Safety Smart has grown, we have been fortunate enough to work alongside a number of innovative modular building specialists. As such, offsite construction has become one of our key areas of interest and expertise.

Our clients include modular giants CIMC MBS, Elliott Offsite Solutions, Osco Homes and Ilke Homes (the offsite housing partnership between Keepmoat and modular specialist Elliott). We have been involved in a variety of offsite projects, including hotels, student accommodation, apartment and workforce accommodation and housing development schemes. One such project incorporated vocational training for young offenders.

Anthony Tetlow, Safety Smart’s Director comments:

“Exciting times ahead for offsite construction and Safety Smart are proud to be in collaboration with some of the key players in this field. Modular construction involves extremely high risk work on a daily basis and robust Health & Safety Management Systems are crucial”.
