In my role as Corporate Director of Environmental, Health and Safety at Gerber Scientific, Inc., I was tasked with ensuring compliance with the UK Safe Contractor regulations and requirements. To facilitate this task, it was necessary to find a UK based expert who could both advise and provide Gerber with hands-on training and support. Gerber interviewed multiple consultants for this project, but was most impressed with the regulatory knowledge and project tact provided by Safety Smart. As our partnership approaches two years – we could not be happier with our choice.

We first started working with Anthony Tetlow towards the end of 2014 when we originally appointed Safety Smart on a 12-month Health & Safety Consultancy agreement. The remit included a range of Health & Safety services to include an overall review and the development of policies and procedures, COM 2015 guidance and regular site safety audits at our McDonalds sites across the country. We have been very happy with the service provided and as such our working relationship continues to this day. Specifically, customer demands on our Field Service Personnel necessitated that Gerber is accredited by both the Safe Contract and CHAS contractor safety regimes. Safety Smart were engaged very close to the project deadline, yet was able to come up to speed with Gerber’s work practices, review and edit our Safety Policy and provide training within a very short timeframe to beat our target dates. What we appreciate most is that his ability to guide us throughout the year and apprise us of upcoming regulatory changes that may impact operations. He is truly our “man on the ground” in the UK and his knowledge base has guided Gerber to our goals. Overall, Safety Smart have proven a tremendous contributor to the success of the Safe Contractor implementation project. They successfully complete all work we assign to them on time, within budget, and with the highest level of integrity. I highly recommend them to any business looking for EHS support.
