Legal Advice

Dealing with enforcing bodies can be a daunting prospect. The Health and Safety Executive are taking an increasingly firm stance with companies who fail to implement effective Health and Safety management systems.

In an era of legislation such as the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 and the Health and Safety (Fees) Regulations 2012, businesses can feel exposed in the face of enforcement action.

With this in mind we are pleased to announce the launch of a specialist Health and Safety legal advice support department which will be led by Kate Hargan.

Kate regularly represents her clients in criminal courts, inquest hearings and at the police station.

She has industry experience in a number of sectors including construction, retail, manufacturing, recycling and property management. She represents a range a clients’ from multinationals to local authorities and SME’s.

Kate provides bespoke training to clients’ including corporate manslaughter, the new environmental landscape and has written a number of articles on recent changes to the regulatory field. She also teaches on the post graduate Legal Practice Course at the University of Central Lancashire.
