In an era of legislation such as the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 and the Health and Safety (Fees) Regulations 2012, businesses can feel exposed in the face of enforcement action.
With this in mind we are pleased to announce the launch of a specialist Health and Safety legal advice support department which will be led by Kate Hargan.
Kate Hargan qualified in 2002 and has since specialised in the regulatory field.
She represents companies and directors who are being investigated and prosecuted by regulators including the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Police and local authorities.
Kate regularly represents her clients in criminal courts, inquest hearings and at the police station.
She has industry experience in a number of sectors including construction, retail, manufacturing, recycling and property management. She represents a range a clients’ from multinationals to local authorities and SME’s.
Kate provides bespoke training to clients’ including corporate manslaughter, the new environmental landscape and has written a number of articles on recent changes to the regulatory field. She also teaches on the post graduate Legal Practice Course at the University of Central Lancashire.
